So, you’ve had time to think about taking part in this retreat, you have chosen to book and here you are… now is the time to think more in-depth about why you want to take part in this retreat. Think about why you want to go through this process and the changes it could bring to your life, think about the things you want to change. These are your intentions. It is important at this stage to write down these reasons.
What it is specifically that you want to change in your life, write down what you would like to have more of in your life, what you would like to change specifically, also what you would like to get rid off.
Think also of the changes you may need to make in your life in order to bring in more of what you want, in order to make those changes and in order to get rid off the things that don’t serve you anymore.
As you now know, when you ingest plant medicines, they create a vibration in your body, that vibration helps you connect to the essence of life and consciousness… so what you put in to your body is very important, not just from a nutritional point of view, but also an energetic point of view. This is very important as many foods in today’s society contain large amounts of fat and sugars along with other chemicals that can lower your vibration and make it not just hard for you to connect with the plant medicine you are going to take, but it can also be very dangerous.
In order to maximise your healing and avoid any negative experiences, we follow and provide a strict diet. We need you to be as clean as possible for the plant medicine to work inside you to its maximum capacity. These guidelines also apply to post-diet, the period in your life after your retreat. From the perspective of this shamanic tradition, each plant represents and holds a different spirit, and in traditional thinking the work with plant medicines is not considered finished until many weeks or months after the actual ceremony.
If you cannot follow the basic diet outlined below, then it is very likely that our retreat is not for you. However, if you can, then you can prepare yourself for some of the deepest healings, teachings, realisations and transformation that words will never be able to express.
8 weeks before:
Most medications (See Medications below)
Recreational drugs of any kind (including marijuana)
4 weeks before:
No red meat – including pork
No fried food
No refined sugars
No dairy products (except for small amounts of butter)
2 weeks before:
No citrus (oranges/lemons etc.)
No raw onion / garlic
No fermented products (vinegars/kimchi etc)
1: weeks before:
You must not take recreational drugs of any kind 8 weeks before your retreat.
The use of drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, mdma, lsd can greatly affect your ceremony and can even lead to mental health conditions.
Avoid sexual contact for 2 weeks before, and one week after your ceremony. This can make some people’s jaws drop, we understand! However, there are some very important reasons for this… During your retreat with us, the plant medicines that you will experience will open you deeply and energetically, so they can work with you to heal you, and share all of their gifts with you, you will need to hold on to your energy for at least 2 weeks prior to your retreat and this energy you will need as the plant heal and work with you.
This abstinence is also important because it really helps give you space to be able to work with yourself, as not to bring your focus externally, but really to hold the space for you. To help you concentrate on your inner journey, the healing journey which led you to this sacred medicine.
